Cancer Hair Care
We work closely with the UK’s leading hair loss support charity Cancer Hair Care who provide a range of free cancer related hair loss advisory services. Advisors visit the Cancer Centre and the Lister every fortnight. For more information contact the Lynda Jackson Centre (hyperlink to welcome page) or contact Cancer Hair Care directly.
These services are funded by Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Charitable Fund, part of East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity.
Headwear workshops
Head Wrappers run monthly sessions at the Lynda Jackson Centre. Focusing on alternatives to wigs, the sessions help people look good and support them to feel more confident as they undergo cancer treatments which may cause hair loss.
Sessions include advice on making the most of scarves, hats and hairpieces, scarf-tying techniques and practical tips for hair and scalp care before, during and after treatment.
Workshops take place on the third Thursday of each month, 1pm – 2pm.
