Headwear workshops
Head Wrappers, run sessions at the Lynda Jackson Centre every two months. Focusing on alternatives to wigs, the sessions help people look good and support them to feel more confident as they undergo cancer treatments which may cause hair loss.
Sessions include advice on making the most of scarves, hats and hairpieces, scarf-tying techniques and practical tips for hair and scalp care before, during and after treatment.
Workshops take place on the third Thursday of each month, 1pm – 2pm.

Beauty and skincare
Look Good Feel Better is a cancer support charity which runs skincare and make-up workshops to help people with the visible side effects of cancer treatment.
Workshops are held at the Lynda Jackson Centre every month on Tuesday afternoons. Led by trained beauty consultants, the sessions are informative and, most importantly, fun and provide an opportunity to meet others in a similar situation.
Workshops for women include skincare and make-up advice and those for men including grooming basics and shaving advice specifically geared towards some of the challenges of treatment. You’ll be given a complimentary gift of products, donated by different cosmetics companies and shown how to use them to the best effect.
Look Good Feel Better also run virtual workshops and tutorials on skincare and make-up, hair loss and hair care, nail care, grooming for men and topics for young adults. Full details are available on their website
