We love celebrating the outstanding care delivered by our nurses and midwives. If you, or a loved one, has received excellent care and would like to thank the nurse, midwife or clinical support worker who looked after you, you can nominate them for a DAISY Award.
What are the DAISY Awards?
The DAISY Awards is an international recognition programme that honours and celebrates the skilful, compassionate care nurses and midwives provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalisation, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.
All DAISY Award nominations will be shared with staff, along with a special DAISY nominee pin badge. Twice a year we will select 12 special DAISY Award winners and celebrate their award with the Trust’s Chief Nurse and Head of Midwifery. Each DAISY Award recipient will receive: a beautiful certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled a Healer’s Touch.
