Community midwives
Our community midwifery teams offer a full range of antenatal services, parent education, birthing at home and postnatal care locally. We provide a flexible service which enables women to have more choice about where to access care.
Community paediatrics
Our team consists of specialist consultants, as well as an associate specialist, supported by specialist health visitors, children’s specialist nurses and psychologists. We work closely with or colleagues in acute paediatrics, speech and language, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
CyberKnife
The CyberKnife® is an advanced radiotherapy treatment delivery system that provides a non-invasive alternative to surgery for the treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous tumours anywhere in the body, including the prostate, lung, brain, spine, liver, pancreas and kidney.
Day surgery
At the Treatment Centre, we understand that coming into hospital for an operation can be daunting. We want your stay with us to be as comfortable and worry-free as possible.
Dementia services
We know what a worrying time it can be when a loved one with dementia is admitted to hospital. Whether this is for an inpatient stay or for an outpatient appointment, we want to support you during this time.

Elderly care
Our team provides specialised inpatient care for patients over the age of 77 years at the Lister hospital in Stevenage only.
Emergency department
The emergency department at the Lister Hospital - also known as accident and emergency or A&E - is open 24 hours a day every day and assesses and treats people with serious illnesses and injuries who need emergency treatment.
