Some patients may require an overnight sleep study to determine if they have obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS). You do not need to stay in hospital overnight – our sleep unit offers a home sleep study service (domicillary).
The special school nursing team supports children and young people, aged between 3-19 years old, who have a range of learning disabilities, physical and neurological impairments and different medical conditions, in the special school setting.
The team provides a hyper-acute service, along with continuing management of stroke patients – including thrombolysis, investigation, assessment and rehabilitation. We also run a daily rapid access transient ischaemic attack (TIA) service/stroke prevention clinic at the Lister.
We have operating theatres at the Lister hospital only, covering both inpatient and day surgery. Each year our team performs around 23,000 operations.
Tissue Viability Nurses review and manage Chronic complex wounds. We assess and plan care for a variety of wounds including Pressure Ulcers, Leg Ulcers, Non-Healing broken down surgical wounds and others. We are an inpatient service covering the Lister Hospital and Mount Vernon cancer centre.
We understand that coming into hospital for an operation can be daunting, but we want your stay at the Treatment Centre to be as comfortable and worry-free as possible.
