Multiple pregnancy service
At the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, if you are pregnant with twins or triplets, we have a specialist team including multiple birth specialist midwives, consultant obstetricians and sonographers who will provide continuity of care during your pregnancy.
We will develop a personalised care plan with you to support you during your pregnancy, birth and after your babies are born.
We will offer you appointments and scans as recommended by national guidance and you can come to your appointments either at the Lister or Hertford County Hospital.
Please be aware, if your care is under our fetal medicine team then this care will only be provided at Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
If you know you are pregnant with twins or triplets before you book for pregnancy care with us, you can specify this on the online booking form.
Once your multiple pregnancy is confirmed at your dating scan (around 12-weeks) appointment, we will arrange for you to have your multiple birth booking appointment at 16 weeks with the team, who will then arrange the rest of your care accordingly.
