A new modern and accessible entrance to Lister Hospital is one step closer to completion as works on the concrete structure concludes.
Opening in autumn 2026, the new build will provide much-needed office space and include new retail opportunities on the hospital site.
Crucially, the project is commercially-funded, meaning no public money will be spent on the build and no money will be taken from any clinical, patient care or staff budgets.

Kevin Howell, Director of Estates and Facilities at East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust said: “We are pleased to mark the latest milestone in the delivery of the new main entrance project, with the completion of the concrete structure. It is great to see the new main entrance taking shape.
“The new entrance will provide a better experience for our patients and visitors, with new shops and facilities transforming the existing entrance into a modern, welcoming, accessible and sustainable space.”
