We have two groups who meet on a regular basis in Stevenage Knit ‘n’ Knatter and Sew Dementia.
Knit ‘n’ Natter
This group pays £3 a week and meets every Tuesday from 10:00-12:00 in the Ibis Hotel in Stevenage. They support our elderly care patients by making blankets, shawls, bed socks and teddy bears. In return they have a cup of coffee and make new friends.
If you are handy with a needle and thread and looking for a new venture, why not join our award winning Sew Dementia group who make sensory blankets for dementia patients in our hospitals? These blankets help to reduce anxiety and keep patients calm and happy.
This friendly group pays £1 per session and meets in the Community Arts Centre on the Roaring Meg Retail Park on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 10.00am until 12.00pm.
New friendships have been formed, creative ideas put into action and nurses have a new resource for their patients.
