Inpatient and outpatient services are provided from the Lister, whilst the New QEII and Hertford County hospitals provide only an outpatient service. All operations, including all children’s day case procedures, take place at the Lister.
There is an on-call service at the Lister available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergency GP referrals. Referral is made to the ENT bleep holder who will decide whether the patient needs urgent review or can be booked into the emergency clinic that runs from Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The bleep holder should be able to book an appointment in the ENT clinic in real time. For less severe cases, our specialist nurse can provide you with expert help on allergies, ear care and assessing the need for, and arranging of, tonsil surgery.

- Miss Joanna Stephens (general ENT, rhinology and benign laryngology)
- Mr Ananth Vijendren (adult and paediatric otology, balance, hearing reconstruction and implantation, head and neck lumps)
- Mr. Panos Dimitriadis (head and neck, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, balance, general adult and paediatric ENT)
- Mr. Anant Patel (head and neck, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, general adult and paediatric ENT)
We also have four specialty registrars, two specialty doctors, one senior and three junior clinical fellows as well as a Research fellow and a post-CCT fellow in Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery (post accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England). They are supported by an expert and dedicated team of nurses and administrative staff.
