Equipment Recycling at ENHTT
Mobility Equipment
Our trust provides mobility equipment to patients that require it after assessment by a member of the staff.
All mobility equipment, including metal walking sticks, crutches and walking frames, can be returned to our trust by patients when they no longer have any need for it. Equipment will be inspected, decontaminated, and refurbished for reuse wherever possible. Any equipment not appropriate for reuse will be disposed or recycled as appropriate
We will also reuse equipment which was issued elsewhere and cannot be returned to the original issuer.
As part of the Greener NHS plan, we aim to have 40% of all of our mobility equipment recycled.
The drop off locations for mobility equipment across the trust are as follows:
- Lister Hospital – Strathmore wing entrance (near Gate 1)
 - Hertford County – main reception
 - New QEII – main reception
