The chief executive of East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust, Adam Sewell-Jones, will be leaving later this year to take up the role of chief executive at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
Adam joined the trust in 2022, following his previous role as chief executive of Newham University Hospital. Over the last four years, he has led the trust through a period of significant change, improvement and recovery following the Covid pandemic.
Reflecting on his departure, Adam said:
“It continues to be an incredible privilege to lead the trust and the amazing people who work here.
“The progress our teams have made is inspiring – improving how quickly patients are seen, strengthening the quality of care, and embracing continuous improvement through the East and North Herts Production System.
“I know the trust will continue striving to deliver the very best for our patients and communities, and I look forward to following its continued progress.”
Trust chair Anita Day said:
“Adam has brought clarity, energy and a strong sense of purpose to the organisation.
“Under his leadership, we have strengthened our foundations, become more forward-looking, and developed a more systematic approach to improvement.
“He has helped position the trust for future success, and we are grateful for his dedication. Adam will be very much missed, and we wish him every success in his new role.”
Arrangements for appointing Adam’s successor will be announced in due course.
