Patients and visitors to Lister Hospital, Stevenage, are being advised to plan ahead as roadworks in the surrounding areas will likely cause delays until late summer 2024.

According to the Hertfordshire County Council website, the following timeline will be in action:
Monday 19 February – Friday 5 April 2024: There will be temporary traffic restrictions and closing North Road at the junction with Graveley Road. A diversion will be in place via A602 Hitchin Road and Coreys Mill Lane. While there will be road closures at the Coreys Mill Lane junction, access will remain available for North Road, Chancellors Road, Lister Close, and Granby Road residents.
Wednesday 3 April – Saturday 6 April 2024: There will be a closure of the junction at North Road, Graveley Road, and High Street, to carry out resurfacing works. A diversion will be in place via A1(M) Junction 8 to Junction 9 and A505 Baldock Bypass for three nights.
Early May 2024: The Council is planning anti-skid resurfacing works at the junction of North Road, Graveley Road, and High Street under temporary traffic restrictions and closure of North Road at the junction with Graveley Road.
Vehicle access to North Road via Coreys Mill Lane will be maintained for hospital staff, hospital visitors, emergency vehicles, residents and deliveries only. Patients and visitors will still be able to access Lister’s multi-storey car park.
If you are visiting the Lister Hospital during the dates of the road works, we urge you to plan ahead for your journey, and allow extra time to make up for potential delays caused by Stevenage roadworks.
