Lister Security team and Carlisle Support Service have won the Healthcare Security Team award at this year’s Healthcare Security Awards 2024.
The team, nominated alongside 14 other finalists, were celebrated for their ability to manage complex and difficult situations with empathy.
The team were also recognised for demonstrating their exemplary service during their care for a troubled teenager with mental health challenges, who later expressed her gratitude through a heartfelt thank-you card, accompanied by praise from her family.
Daniel Higgs, Health, Safety and Security Lead at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust said: “We are so pleased that our security team have been recognised for everything they do to keep our patients and staff safe, sometimes under very challenging circumstances.
“Their commitment, positive attitude, and unwavering effort is truly commendable. We are so proud of them all.”
The Healthcare Security Team category recognises an outstanding team who has stood out and is considered worthy of recognition, citing ‘outstanding professionalism, dedication, and compassion.’
The Healthcare Security Awards 2024, ran by the National Association for Healthcare Security (NAHS), were held on Thursday 28 November.
