The catering team had an unannounced hygiene visit from environmental health officer (EHO) inspectors on Wednesday 22 March. Following this visit, the Lister restaurant’s rating was elevated to the maximum level of 5 stars.
This inspection was conducted to measure compliance with requirements of the Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013, after receiving a lower score during the last EHO inspection in March 2022. The team focused on making improvements in key areas around compliance with structural requirements, confidence in management and control procedures, as well as clear guidelines for food safety.
New roles within the catering team, including a Food Production Manager, Catering Service Manager and Catering Compliance Co-Ordinator were filled in the last year, which have allowed them to improve on the areas highlighted. The team have also worked closely with the estates to rectify the structural issues. All the issues identified in compliance with structural requirements have been rectified, and the service continues to maintain a good standard of compliance.
