Monday 19 September, the day of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, has been confirmed as a bank holiday.
All East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust patients who have an appointment on Monday 19 September will be contacted either by phone call or text message.
This will be to confirm if your appointment will be going ahead and, if so, whether you can attend. Please wait to be contacted – there is no need to contact us first.
Urgent and emergency care will operate as usual on bank holiday Monday, and we will continue with as many appointments and procedures as possible – prioritising cancer and other clinically-urgent appointments.
If you have a change of circumstances and need to rearrange your appointment after you have already been contacted, please follow the rearrangement process as stated on your original appointment letter or text message.
If you are a patient at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood, you should call the contact centre on 0333 33 254 70 before 5pm on Friday 16 September if you wish to rearrange your treatment on bank holiday Monday.
If you have not heard from us (which could include leaving a voicemail message), then please attend your appointment as normal.
Our outpatient blood testing services at Hertford County Hospital, Lister Hospital in Stevenage, and the New QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City will not be running – as is usual on bank holidays.
Lister Hospital’s outpatient pharmacy will be running between 10am and 2pm on the bank holiday, with our pharmacy at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre open 9am to 5pm as usual. Our pharmacy at the New QEII Hospital will be closed on Monday 19 September, as is usual on bank holidays.
