Shahid Chandna graduated from Karachi in 1985 and has been working in the UK since 1988, in the field of renal medicine since 1991. He has been closely involved in establishing the satellite haemodialysis unit at St. Albans and Luton and is the joint lead of St. Albans haemodialysis unit. He is also the joint lead of the transplantation and supervises the live donor programme for renal transplants.
Dr Chandna has a special interest in the integration of information technology in medicine and is the department lead in IT, with a major role for the development and refinement of the renal software, Renal Plus. With and active interest in research and medical statistics, he has authored a number of peer reviewed papers on various aspects of haemodialysis and conservative management of chronic renal failure.
