Dr Chandel has been a consultant gastroenterologist at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust since 2016. He is a general gastroenterologist providing both inpatient and outpatient care for a wide variety of gastrointestinal problems. 

He also provides overnight and weekend emergency endoscopy cover for GI bleeds on a rotating basis with consultant colleagues. He is a Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopist & a JAG accredited endoscopy trainer for specialty registrars.
