Mr. Rami Atalla is a senior consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at East and North Hertfordshire NHS trust since 1999. He is the lead consultant for the recurrent miscarriages and the Urogynaecology services. He receives several tertiary referrals for complicated managements in these fields.
In 2000, he developed the Recurrent Miscarriages clinic, which gained a national reputation with referrals from beyond our catchment area.
He specialises in pelvic floor, vaginal and incontinence surgeries including complicated and recurrent prolapses as well as general laparoscopic gynaecological operations.
After graduation, he had a wide range of experience in large teaching hospitals such as Norfolk and Norwich, Birmingham Maternity Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary.
He was appointed as a Lecturer at Leicester University before joining the East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust.
He published a large number of researches in major international scientific journals as well as multiple presentations in international meetings. He was invited to write several chapters in postgraduate medical books. He was selected as an associate editor for an international Journal.
He developed and actively updated several new treatments in his field.
Mr Atalla is both lead consultant for Urogynaecology and recurrent miscarriage services at East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust, a trusted Associate Editor for the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a member of the British Society of Urogynaecology Subcommittee.
He is popular and highly regarded by his patients and he has been nominated as an “NHS Hero” for his services.
