I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Trust since December 2002. I am based at the QEII Hospital, where I undertake all my trauma and elective surgery. I undertake alternate weekly out-patient clinics at QEII and Hertford County and a weekly fracture clinic at QEII.
I trained extensively in the USA and UK and have a specialist interest in reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow and upper limb. I perform the majority of my surgery arthroscopically (keyhole), which allows a more cosmetically appealing result as well as earlier recovery. I perform elbow and shoulder joint replacements for arthritis. I am one of the few consultants who offer wrist arthroscopies for ligament and arthritic problems, and regularly deal with wrist fractures and non-unions (scaphoid etc). I also perform complex muscle transfers and reconstructions for the shoulder and arm.
I am associated with UCL as a trainer and assessor for the orthopaedic trainee’s.
I am involved with active research and development in innovations in Upper Limb Surgery.
