Mr Reay-Jones started as a consultant with the Trust in October 2002.
He trained in the North Thames region, two years of which was at the QEII hospital. His final year of training included six months at St Mark`s Hospital in Harrow, the world renowned centre of excellence for the treatment of colorectal diseases.
His surgical interests include surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, gall bladder, hernia and all minor
proctological conditions. He performs lower gastro-intestinal endoscopy.
He has sub-specialist expertise in laparoscopic colorectal surgery having set up the service within the Trust in 2006. He is on the faculty as a trainer at the National Laparoscopic Training Centre in Colchester. He is the Mount Vernon cancer network nominated lead surgeon for salvage surgery in cases of recurrent anal cancer.
He is joint lead for the colorectal cancer MDT and has been Clinical Director for General Surgery being responsible over the last 2 years for the centralisation of acute and elective General Surgery from QEII to the Lister site.
He is married and has two children. In his spare time he enjoys golf, skiing and hockey.
