Dr Rees has been a consultant neurologist for twenty years and is regarded as the national neurology expert on neuro-oncology. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with brain tumours and neurological problems associated with cancer.
He has been on the NICE Guidelines Committee for the treatment of brain tumours, has published over 60 papers of original research and written chapters and textbooks on brain tumours.
He also works at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He is active in teaching and training and organises a yearly course on Neuro-oncology for health professionals. He lectures widely to doctors, surgeons, patient groups, GPs and other health professionals and is on the Executive Council of the British Neuro-oncology Society. His research interests include MRI scanning of gliomas and time to diagnosis of brain tumours.
