Mr. Hemaya was appointed is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at East and North Herts NHS Trust in 1996. He qualified in Egypt in 1977 and trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the USA and the UK.
He has a special interest in Urogynaecology, including incontinence surgery and the management of overactive bladder. He is also interested in vaginal surgery for prolapse. In addition, he is interested in the management of menstrual disorders and heavy periods, uterine fibroids, pelvic pain and polycystic ovary syndrome.
He has deep interest in medical education. He is the RCOG College Tutor for the trust and is responsible for the teaching and development of doctors training in our department. He is an Examiner at the RCOG and organises and teaches on courses at the RCOG and the Lister and other hospitals
