Accessible Information Standard

Making health and social care information accessible

The Trust is committed to supporting the Accessible Information Standard, introduced by NHS England. The aim is to make sure patients, service users, carers and parents with disabilities, impairments and/or sensory loss are provided with information that is accessible and easy to understand.

By implementing the standard successfully, the Trust will:

  • Identify and record those with communication needs
  • Ensure that those recorded needs are highly visible whenever patient records are accessed
  • Share communication needs as part of existing data-sharing processes
  • Take steps to ensure individuals receive information they can access and understand easily

Types of accessible information include but are not limited to:

  • Braille
  • Large print
  • Easy read

By implementing the standard successfully the Trust hopes to improve outcomes and patient experiences, and allow for safer and more personalised care.

If you have any accessible information requirements, please email or discuss them with a senior nurse or matron. Please note that this email address is not for appointment related queries.
