I have completed specialist training in respiratory and general medicine in the South East of Scotland, East of England and additionally, intensive care medicine in the UK and Australia. During a period of clinical research in the Royal Brompton, National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, I co-ordinated the first and largest multicentre randomised controlled trial in the UK, measuring the efficacy and cost effectiveness of CPAP in older people with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). My work has been presented and published internally and contributed to a PhD. I can manage a spectrum of sleep disorders including OSA, parasomnias and narcolepsy. I am confident in completing and interpreting advanced sleep studies including full nocturnal polysomnography, respiratory polygraphy, oximetry, multiple sleep latency tests and actigraphy. I am a member of the British Sleep Society and regularly participate in educational events in the UK.

I also have significant experience in the management of acute and chronic respiratory failure and use of acute and domiciliary non-invasive ventilation, having worked at the Royal Brompton, Papworth and the Lane Fox Unit, Guys and St Thomas' Hospital.

I also have an interest in pleural care and can provide thoracic ultrasound, thoracoscopy and indwelling pleural catheters.
