Five daredevils aim to raise money for the Lister’s urology department

Five skydivers will be jumping from a plane to raise money for the Lister’s urology department. The skydivers are members of the Robotic Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy Heroes (RALPH) support group.

The support group will be fundraising on behalf of the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ charity, to give something back to the team that has helped many of their members. The jump will take place at the end of August and the money raised will be used to buy new medical equipment.

Hitchin resident Antonio Ciaravella, a member of the RALPH support group who is taking part in the skydive, said:

“I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in July 2016 and, after a flurry of tests and procedures, I underwent an operation using state of the art robotic surgery. This was successfully carried out at the Lister in Stevenage by what I can only describe as a terrific team of very special people. I am doing this skydive to give something back in support of those wonderful people.”
