The project, led by the Trust’s health play specialist team, was funded jointly by the Hospital Charity and the Rays of Sunshine children’s charity. The murals were unveiled officially at an event held on Bluebell ward on 7 December.

Children’s nursing services manager, Caroline Dilks, said:

“For a child, coming in to hospital can sometimes be a frightening experience and it’s important we make our children’s wards a welcoming environment for younger people. This is why our health play specialist team has led on this project to bring some colour and creativity to the Lister’s Bluebell ward.”

We’re extremely grateful to those who donated to the Magic of Play appeal here at the hospital, as well as Rays of Sunshine, for funding the mural. We’d also like to thank the artists for their fantastic artwork.”
