We want to provide our patients and their carers with the best possible experience whilst they are using our services. We know that involving patients and their carers in decisions about their care and treatment leads to improved patient experience and this is why putting our patients first is one of the Trust’s core values.
Patient and carer feedback
Have you been a patient in one of our hospitals in the last week or do you help care for someone who uses our services? If so, please help us by completing one of our patient/carer experience surveys. We value your feedback.
Patient and carer experience strategy 2015-19
Our patient and carer experience strategy for 2015 to 2019 has been developed with patients, carers and staff. The main aims of the strategy are to:
- Engage actively with patients and carers encouraging all feedback and demonstrating genuine learning from listening
- Identify our key ambitions to improve patient and carer experience throughout the Trust
- Ensure that patients and carers are provided with the best possible experience whilst using our services
The strategy sets out the Trust’s ambitions for ensuring excellence in patient and carer experience, namely:
Ambition 1: We want to improve the experience of our patients and carers from their first contact with the Trust, through to their safe discharge from our care.
Ambition 2: We want to improve the information we provide to enhance communication between our staff, patients and carers.
Ambition 3: We want to meet our patients physical, emotional and spiritual needs while they are using our services, recognising that every patient is unique.
An annual evaluation of progress towards our ambitions will be undertaken and published.
