All adult ophthalmology services, including outpatients, day case procedures and the eye casualty service at the QEII, are now managed by Clinicenta, which runs the new Lister Surgicentre on behalf of the NHS. Whilst outpatient services will continue to take place at the QEII and Hertford County hospitals, in Stevenage they are taking place in the Lister Surgicentre. This is also now the venue for all adult day case procedures and the new emergency eye clinic, both of which had been located at the QEII.
Clinicenta is in the final stages of developing a dedicated website just for the Surgicentre, which will have more information on the services provided there. In the meantime, if you are having your surgery at the Surgicentre and have questions, please call 01438 735200.
The Trust retains all children’s ophthalmology services, although the emergency eye service has also transferred to the Lister.
