Service
Gastroenterology is our department that provides an extensive range of services covering all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology, including the following; inflammatory bowel disease, diagnosing and treating of suspected gastro intestinal (GI) cancer, functional GI disorders and dyspepsia and also Hepatology and nutrition.
Our department offers a full Gastroenterology service at both the Lister and QEII hospitals from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm Mon – Fri. There is also an “out of hours” and weekend ‘on call’ service for emergencies. Outpatient clinics are also available at the Hertford County hospital
Our Trust undertakes over 1200 endoscopic procedures per annum for the region and the waiting time for any procedure is currently between two and six weeks.
In 2007 the department received its JAG accreditation and now offers a full Bowel Screening service.
