We treat over 5,000 new patients annually with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
We have:
- A chemotherapy suite, which treats around 150 patients a week using 11 chairs and 2 beds
- Inpatient wards 10 and 11, which have 47 beds between them including 2 high dependency beds
- Marie Curie Ward – an 18-bed, five-day oncology ward
- Nine linear accelerators providing radiotherapy treatments, with 5 housed in the centre’s £21 million New Radiotherapy Wing, which opened officially on 7 April 2008
Also part of the cancer centre are three independently run facilities which support our patients:
The Paul Strickland Scanner Centre
The Lynda Jackson Macmillan centre
The Michael Sobell House palliative care unit
