North Herts Medical Society – GP update training days

GP updates are held at the Lister’ Education Centre twice a year and are aimed at GPs and experienced practice nurses .  They are free to attend for practices based in the area covered by the East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning group.  The 2016 dates are 11 May and 2 November.

Each update is a full-day course, with the subjects covered planned carefully to help keep GPs up-to-date on topics that they come across in their everyday work.  The courses also provide those attending an opportunity to discover new treatments, expand their knowledge and meet fellow colleagues.

The topics that will be covered in 2016’s courses include:

  • Post traumatic disorder – misdiagnosis
  • Zika virus update
  • Contraceptive update
  • The challenges posed by end-of-life care and how to manage them
  • Inflammatory arthritis and history of examinations
  • Aches and pains in the arms and legs
  • Breathing difficulties in children

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

If you have any questions about the day, or would like to make a telephone booking please either email Trish Raftery or call her 01438 285910 (normal weekday office hours).  Find out more here about the GP Update day planned for 11 May 2016.

If you have ideas for further speakers or topics, or would like an opportunity to present to fellow GPs, please get in touch using the contact details above.
