Biography

Mr Salvesen was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at East and North Herts NHS Trust, Lister in 1998.

He qualified at St Thomas' Hospital, London in 1986. He then undertook specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at three of London's most prestigious units: St Thomas' Hospital, King's College Hospital and Queen Charlotte's Hospital.  Whilst training at King's College Hospital he also spent two years undertaking research and training in Fetal Medicine under the supervision of Professor K Nicolaides. He continues to have a special interest in Fetal Medicine and prenatal diagnosis and has extensive experience in undertaking pregnancy ultrasound scans and prenatal diagnosis including performing amniocentesis and chorion villous sampling (CVS).

Mr Salvesen is also a Consultant Gynaecologist having expertise in the management of a wide range of gynaecological problems including menstrual disorders, heavy periods, fibroids, pelvic pain, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, subfertility, prolapse, urinary incontinence, menopausal problems and recurrent miscarriage.

He is able to offer minimally invasive treatments for heavy periods, urinary incontinence and other gynaecological conditions.
