Biography

Mr Boustead trained in General Surgery and Urological Surgery in South Africa and completed his residency in Pretoria, South Africa in 1993. He moved to the UK and underwent further postgraduate training as a Senior Registrar in the UK between 1993 and 1995 before taking up a Consultant appointment at East & North Herts NHS Trust in January 1996.

Mr Boustead was a Visiting Fellow to Duke University Medical Centre in 1995 and received a British Urological Foundation travelling Fellowship to Texas Health Science Centre in 1997. He Chaired the Trust Cancer Board between 2000 and 2004, and was Chairman of the Mount Vernon Urological Cancer Tumour group from 2005 to 2008. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Section of Oncology of the British Association of Urological Surgeons. He is a member of the urology group of the  National Cancer Intelligence Network. His sub specialist interest is pelvic urological cancer, specifically prostate and bladder cancer and robotic surgery for bladder cancer. He is a Principal Investigator in numerous International and national trials and has numerous publications in the peer reviewed literature. He has lectured and presented Internationally on a regular basis.
