Biography

Dr Wijeyekoon was appointed as Consultant Rheumatologist in February 2011. He graduated in medicine from Imperial College in 1997 having first completed an intercalated BSc in Immunology and Microbiology. He trained in rheumatology at a number of different London hospitals before studying molecular biology at Oxford University. He is dually accredited in rheumatology and general internal medicine. He was acting consultant in rheumatology at the Hammersmith Hospital London prior to his appointment to East and North Herts NHS Trust. Dr Wijeyekoon has a specialist interest in Early Inflammatory Arthritis and is lead physician for Rheumatology Biological Services. He is based at the Lister hospital and runs a number of out reach clinics at Hertford County and QEII hospitals.
