Biography

Accredited in general medicine and gastroenterology having trained in Oxford and London, Dr Trotman was recruited to develop Palliative Medicine as a specialty at Mount Vernon Hospital.

Since that time he has been in the vanguard of  innovation in the specialty as has been instrumental in the establishment and delivery of training programmes for junior doctors and the  development of a first class local specialist service.

He has been lead clinician for the Supportive and Palliative Care Network in Herts and S. Beds and latterly  appointed Medical Director of Mount Vernon Cancer Network.

Dr Trotman has published papers on pain and symptom management, authored articles on service delivery and has developed an active research, audit and clinical governance programme at MVH.
