Biography

I am one of the more senior surgeons at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, with extensive experience in the surgical management of colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, gallstones, hernias, breast surgery, and Oesophago-gastric cancer surgery.

General Surgery training in London, Scotland and Wales.Consultant at Lister Hospital since 1994.

Initially appointed with a special interest in surgical oncology, this interest has focussed more on Gastrointestinal surgery in recent years, and in the areas of Colorectal Surgery and Laparoscopic Biliary Surgery, as more focussed specialist interest has become the norm in new appointments.

Past Bernard Sunley Research Fellow and Arris and Gale Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and currently examiner for the Intercollegiate MRCS.

Past Treasurer and Meetings Secretary British Association for Surgical Oncology.

Publications and presentations on breast, colorectal and upper GI cancer, and hospital mortality.

Currently Hertfordshire County Programme Director for Core Surgical Training, and member Regional Training Committee for General Surgery.

Currently Chairman of Consultant Staff Committee at Lister Hospital.
