Biography

Dr. Ken Darzy graduated abroad in 1990. He completed his general medical training in the UK and obtained the membership of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 1996. He had extensive training in complex endocrinology while he was doing research in endocrinology at the Christie Hospital NHS Trust from 2000 to 2003. He obtained the MD in 2008 and he had numerous original publications and reviews in neuro-endocrinology.

Dr. Darzy had further training in all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology including endocrine cancer at Bart’s and the London Hospitals. He obtained the Certificate for Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in June 2006, just before he was appointed in this Trust.

Dr. Darzy currently runs the insulin pump services at the Trust and takes special interest in the management of thyroid cancer, pituitary diseases, and endocrine late effects of cancer therapy. In addition, he has regular duties in acute general medicine and outpatient clinics for complex diabetic patients and general endocrinology.

Dr. Darzy is the lead for clinical audit in Diabetes and Endocrinology and the Diabetes CIPTS database in the Trust.
