Hello my name is….

At our hospitals, you can expect all our staff to introduce themselves when they meet you.  A simple thing to expect but as Kate Granger – a doctor in the NHS who is also a terminally ill cancer patient – recognised first-hand, the impact for patients and those caring for them is huge when NHS staff introduce themselves.

Kate took this simple act and asks us all in the NHS to say  “Hello my name is…” to patients, visitors and to colleagues.  To find out more about Kate’s story and what she is trying, just go to  the Hello my name is website.  To follow Kate on Twitter, use @GrangerKate or #hellomynameis
