Over 3,100 staff have been vaccinated against ‘flu

The Trust has met the national 70% target set by Public Health England for the number of front-line staff vaccinated against ‘flu. In total, over 3,100 members of staff have now been vaccinated – helping to protect patients and colleagues from the virus.

Speaking about the achievement, the Trust’s deputy director of workforce and organisational development, Thomas Pounds said:

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to the members of staff who have had their jab, as well as our colleagues in the Health@Work service, who have been running ‘flu clinics every day for staff to ensure they are vaccinated and our patients are protected.”

The ‘flu vaccination is the best protection against the virus. Although ‘flu will normally clear up on its own within a week for healthy people, it can be more severe for others – such as those aged 65 or over, pregnant women, or children and adults with an underlying health condition.
