Trust deputy HR director wins national award

The Trust’s deputy HR director Kerry Eldridge has won Healthcare People Management Association’s (HPMA) deputy HR director of the year award at its 25th annual awards.

Kerry has been recognised by the HPMA as one of the key drivers behind a number of significant developments and changes within the Trust’s workforce and OD team.

She has been instrumental in improving staff engagement scores from below to above the national average in the last year, delivery of the largest cost improvement programme in the NHS during 2014/2015 and embedding fully the Trust’s employee relations advisory service – which has helped train over 400 managers during a six month period.

Commenting on Kerry’s successes, the judges said:

“Kerry is a HR director in waiting. She has demonstrated engagement at all levels of the organisation and provided excellent evidence of impact. There is clearly strength and passion from her team and from the chief executive/staff on the ground.”

The HPMA is the professional body for HR in healthcare. With over 7,000 members, its aim is to support and develop HR staff to improve people management contribution in healthcare.
