School students’ art set to brighten up Lister’s new emergency department

Artwork produced by young people from Stevenage’s John Henry Newman Catholic School is now displayed proudly in the main waiting area of the Lister’s new emergency department, the penultimate phase of which – the children’s emergency service – opens to patients for the first time on Wednesday, 8 October 2014.

The Trust has been working with the school – which specialises in the arts – for some 18 months on the project. During this period, a whole term of curriculum time for a range of year groups has been devoted to producing quality artwork to help the Trust emphasise one of its key themes – namely being part of the local community.
