Trust confirms additional non-executive director

The NHS Trust Development Authority (NHS TDA) has confirmed the appointment of Stuart Gavurin as a full non-executive director of the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, which manages the Lister hospital in Stevenage, the QEII hospital in Welwyn Garden City, Hertford County Hospital and the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

Stuart spent over 20 years in private practice as a qualified accountant but more recently has been a commercial director with particular experience in finance, property development, investment, management and contract negotiation in the commercial, health and residential sectors.  He has specialist knowledge of commercial legal affairs and has been responsible for setting up legal partnership working arrangements between NHS bodies and the private sector.

Stuart lives in Bushey Heath and was first appointed a Non-Executive Director Designate to the Trust in August 2012 and was then appointed as a Non-Executive Director in June 2013.

Stuart said, ‘I have spent many years working with and in the NHS and have seen much significant change over this time. I am pleased to be part of the constant drive to improve patient care in every respect.’

Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by the NHS TDA are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

Stuart has been appointed from 1st June 2013 until 31st May 2015 and is entitled to receive a remuneration of £6,157 per annum.
