Who are the Care Quality Commission?

They are the new independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. They make sure that the care that people receive meets essential standards of quality and safety by continually monitoring compliance with these standards.

Our registration

With effect from the 1st of April 2010 our Trust was registered with Care Quality Commission to carry on the following regulated activities, without compliance conditions:

  • Treatment of disease, disorder or injury at Hertford County Hospital, the Lister Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and New QEII hospital.
  • Surgical procedures at the Lister Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and New QEII hospital.
  • Diagnostic and screening procedures at Hertford County Hospital, the Lister Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and New QEII hospital.
  • Maternity and midwifery services at Hertford County Hospital, the Lister Hospital and New QEII hospital.
  • Termination of pregnancies at the Lister Hospital and New QEII Hospital.
  • Family planning at the Hertford County Hospital, the Lister Hospital and New QEII hospital.
  • Assessment or medical treatment of people detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 at Lister Hospital, New QEII Hospital and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
